Ocean3D is the ocean kit Godot has been missing. One Gerstner wave function drives both the shader and the physics, so floating bodies ride exactly the water you render. No fudged colliders, no second approximation of the sea, no drift between what the player sees and what the game feels.

Extracted from a WIP sailing survival game and hardened by a 30-check automated test harness that runs on every release.

What's inside

  • Endless ocean surface: drop-in node, camera-following detail tile plus horizon skirt, no seams, no vertex swimming.
  • Real buoyancy: multi-probe FloatingBody component with per-probe weighting, surface-relative damping (bodies ride waves instead of pogo-sticking), and editor gizmos for probe placement.
  • Wake that follows your path: waterline foam ring, churn trail painted along the boat's actual track through turns, entry foam, and bow spray driven by speed AND wave slap.
  • Weather in one variable: Ocean.storm_scale swells the sea for physics and visuals together, with a per-profile stability guard that keeps buoyancy honest at full rage.
  • Whitecaps and wind streaks: crests foam where water actually breaks, only in gusty patches, only on heavy seas. Calm water stays glass.
  • Seas as data: OceanWaveProfile resources, four presets from glass calm to 8-meter storm swell, swappable at runtime.
  • Deterministic: the sea is a pure function of position and time. Network-friendly by construction.

Three demo scenes included

Floating props (buoyancy tuning patterns), a drivable WASD boat with the full wake stack, and a storm cycle where one variable grades waves, sea color, sky, and sun together.
